Welcome to Root & Awen. These Terms of Service explain the terms that apply when you use our website or purchase products from us.

By placing an order with Root & Awen, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

1. About Root & Awen

Root & Awen is an independent UK business offering botanical spell jars, laser-engraved wooden pieces and other nature-inspired products.

2. Our products

We aim to describe and photograph our products as accurately as possible.

Many Root & Awen products are individually made using natural materials. This means there may be variations in colour, grain, bark, shape, botanical ingredients and other natural characteristics. These variations are part of the individual character of the product and are not considered faults.

Colours may also appear slightly different depending on your screen or device.

Any spiritual, symbolic or traditional properties referred to in our product descriptions are provided for cultural, spiritual or personal-interest purposes. We do not guarantee any particular outcome from using our products.

3. Orders

When you place an order, you are offering to purchase the products in your basket.

We reserve the right to decline or cancel an order where reasonably necessary, including where a product is unavailable, there has been an obvious pricing or listing error, or we are unable to fulfil the order.

If we cancel an order after payment has been taken, we will refund the amount paid.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP).

Delivery charges are shown separately where applicable and will be displayed before you complete your purchase.

Payment must be successfully authorised before an order can be processed.

5. Delivery

We currently deliver to addresses within the United Kingdom.

Available delivery options, prices and estimated delivery times are shown during checkout and in our Shipping Policy.

Delivery dates and times are estimates. We will take reasonable steps to get your order to you within the stated timeframe, but circumstances outside our reasonable control can occasionally cause delays.

Where we arrange delivery, responsibility for the goods remains with us until they are delivered to you or to a person you have identified to receive them, subject to applicable consumer law.

6. Returns, cancellations and refunds

Your rights to cancel an eligible order, return an item or request a refund are explained in our Return and Refund Policy.

Personalised or custom-made products may not qualify for change-of-mind cancellation where the relevant legal exemption applies.

This does not affect your statutory rights if goods are faulty, damaged or not as described.

7. Product safety and use

Please use Root & Awen products responsibly and keep products containing small components, dried botanicals, crystals or similar materials away from young children and pets where appropriate.

Our spell jars and decorative products are not intended for consumption.

Products should be kept away from naked flames and other sources of heat unless a product is specifically designed and sold for that purpose.

8. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the Root & Awen name, branding, original product photography, written content and original designs displayed on this website belong to Root & Awen or are used with appropriate permission.

They may not be reproduced or used commercially without our permission, except where permitted by law.

9. Relationship with Shopify

Root & Awen is powered by Shopify, which enables us to provide our online store and related services to you. However, purchases made through our store are made directly with Root & Awen.

Shopify is not the seller of Root & Awen products. Your contract for the purchase of our products is with Root & Awen.

10. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy.

Shopify also processes certain personal information in connection with providing the technology that powers our online store.

11. Website availability and third-party services

We aim to keep our website accurate and available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access at all times.

Our website may contain links to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content or operation of websites that we do not control.

12. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, or limits any rights you have under applicable consumer law.

We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when a contract was formed or for business losses arising from a purchase made by a consumer for personal use.
